Apple recently revealed a new MacBook that’s not only its lightest (two pounds!), but upgraded and more efficient than ever.
The keyboard uses what Apple calls a “butterfly mechanism.” It offers more stable and precise keystrokes than a typical keyboard, where keys dip down as you type. And force sensors on the trackpad integrate tap-centric feedback for ease of use.
The new layered, long-life battery, spread over the MacBook’s surface, lasts for nine hours. Dense but light, the MacBook is Apple’s first without a fan. In another space-saving move, a single port works for many connections, including power, USB, DisplayPort, VGA and HDMI.
Available in silver, space grey and gold, MacBooks start at $1,299.
