Cisco Creates Update To Stop OSPF Vulnerability | BVA INC. emPowering Your IT

ciscoCisco released a security advisory on July 31st, 2014 regarding various Cisco products. These products are open to attack by unauthorized hackers. The hackers are gaining access to the OSPF by injecting crafted OSPF packets, the only OSPF packet that work are crafted unicast and multicast LAS type 1 packets. once they have compromised the system they can blackhole and intercept traffic. For those of you that use OSPFv3 and FSPF protocol, you are not affected by this security breach. Cisco has created a free software update to remedy this issue, so no need to worry.
