IPv6 offers many benefits over that of IPv4. 6 offers near-limitless number of addresses. With IPv6, technically we will no longer need to use NAT (network address translation). The reason for this is because NAT was originally used to share an IP address with multiple devices due to the limited number of IP addresses. Using NAT actually increases network latency because the addresses have to be translated. With IPv6, each device has a unique address therefore making point to point communications faster. Video conferencing and VOIP will greatly benefit from these direct connections.
