Remember the ‘80s Walkman? Sony’s latest Walkman audio player, the NW-ZX2, aims to recapture the Walkman’s success – with superior sound quality.
Like last year’s NW-ZX1, the new device shows Sony’s commitment to high-resolution audio capability. The NW-ZX2 comes with LDAC, a new technology that allows more information in a Bluetooth audio bitstream. DSEE-HX, also in the new device, restores compressed music files to their original audio fidelity.
The new Walkman accepts multiple file formats: MP3, DSD, WAV, AIFF, FLAC and more. With 128GB of internal memory, and a microSD slot to add 128GB more, the NW-ZX2 has strong memory capacity.
Shipping in the second quarter of 2015, Sony’s new Walkman is priced at $1,119.
