The tech folks here at BVA love to test out gadgets and with the way Apple comes out with new toys on a regular basis it usually give us something to talk about. The newest Apple release will be the iPad 4 which will debut on February 5th. What is so special about this one? Well, the iPad 4 is a 128GB iPad with Retina Display along with almost double the performance power due to its A6X processor (an upgraded version of the A6 which is in the iPhone 5).
“With more than 120 million iPads sold, it’s clear that customers around the world love their iPads, and every day they are finding more great reasons to work, learn and play on their iPads rather than their old PCs,” said Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, Phillip Schiller. “With twice the storage capacity and an unparalleled selection of over 300,000 native iPad apps, enterprises, educators and artists have even more reasons to use iPad for all their business and personal needs.”
To me the biggest draw would be double the memory, but aside from that it has a 9.7-inch Retina display, iOS 6,1 and wireless performance, iTunes Match, and FaceTime HD camera. When you purchase an iPad you get 800,000 options from the AppStore with 300,000 of them specifically designed for the iPad so the chance of you getting bored is slim to none. This generation iPad seems to be focused more towards the business users which I think is a great idea on their part considering a reported 85% of the Global 500 businesses either have iPads or are testing out what they can do for the functionality of their business. I think this is also the reasoning for the hefty price tag too. The iPad w/ wi-fi will start at $799 and the iPad w/ wi-fi + Cellular will be a whopping $929.
